Day 1 to Bad Tölz

Already on my first day I realized what I had forgotten… Mosquito repellent. It was a beautiful walk in the river banks of the Isar and now I have some nice, itchy memories 😉

Unfortunately, I could not start my “Dream Way” on its original starting point, the Munich Marienplatz. If all goes well I would have been at the big and highly frequented Karwendelhaus on Saturday, and apparently it is fully booked on a sunny hiking weekend. So I skipped my first stage to save a day and got a bed on friday… My sister and her two boys, who live in Munich, dropped me in Wolfratshausen and combinded it with a visit to the Fairy Woods (which I still remember when I was a little girl).

Besides from walking out of Wolfratshausen and inside into Bad Tölz I met not anybody on the whole walk through the woods and along the river. In Bad Tölz I stayed at a very lovely place called “Gästehaus Sibylle“, defenitely recommendable – either for Dream Way hikers or just for some vacation days in the nice small town of Bad Tölz.

Highlight of the day

Taking a rest at the Isar and cooling down my feet. Overall a sunny but not too hot day, my muscles hurts a bit but feet are fine. All motivated for tomorrow.
