Day 10 to Pfitscherjoch

“Ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao” – today I crossed the alpine border to Italy! It was the most exhausting but also the most amazing day so far: We left the cozy “Geraer Hütte” at 7.15am and went all the way up to the “Alpeinerscharte” to cross the pass at 2.948 m and almost 0 degree. It was a tough ascent, one of us got heavy breathing problems, but as a group we managed the way to the other side, where the snow was more slushy and easier to decent. It was a beautiful view to the “Zillertaler Hauptkamm” and many more mountains I cannot name. After many snow and boulder fields we followed a long rocky trail around the mountains, saw the huge “Schlegeisspeicher” from above and made it finally to the big “Pfitscherjochhaus“, the last hour in rain and being pretty tired.
